The spin-column format ensures ease and efficiency. The resulting nucleic acid is free of polysaccharides and other secondary metabolites that are often co-purified when conventional methods are used.  The kit supplies almost everything needed for isolation of plant genomic DNA, including the pestle for grinding plant materials. DNA yields is high, but may vary between different species and tissues depending on genome size, ploidy, cell number, and age of the tissue sample.
