Tsg DNA Polymerases
Tsg DNA Polymerase: It is a thermostable DNA polymerase isolated from a strain of Thermus sp. and is designed for thermal DNA amplification. Tsg has a half-life of 3 hours at 95°C, and is therefore more stable than many other DNA polymerases. In addition, it has higher fidelity, with an error frequency of 15/106 during DNA synthesis. DNA sequencing with Tsg and Tsg Plus DNA Polymerases produces uniformed band intensities and low background. Tsg has independent terminal transferase activity similar to the Taq DNA polymerase, which results in the addition of a single adenosine (A) at the 3′ end of the extension products. This is very useful if the PCR products need to be cloned in T-vectors.
Tsg plus DNA Polymerase: It is a combination of the Tsg DNA Polymerase with an additional thermostable DNA polymerase in order to achieve higher fidelity. Tsg Plus DNA Polymerase retains all the features of the original Tsg DNA Polymerase, but with increased stability. The error frequency has also been reduced, thereby increasing the fidelity. Tsg Plus DNA Polymerase offers improved performance for amplification of longer products.
